We are talking about the juniper in Carrascalejo, a specimen of <em><strong>Juniperus oxycedrus<\/strong><\/em> about<strong> 350 years old<\/strong> which is pure plant resistance.<\/p><p>What is interesting about this tree is its <strong>botanical rarity<\/strong>. In a land where cork oaks, holm oaks and oaks usually take centre stage, to find a juniper like this<strong> stature and longevity<\/strong> It\u2019s like finding a collector\u2019s item in the middle of the woods.<\/p><p>The town where it is situated, <strong>Carrascalejo<\/strong>, was founded by former beekeepers and this tree holds the living memory of centuries of pastoral life and rural development. It is the perfect place to stop off on your Grand Tour, far from the hustle and bustle, and simply watch how its branches have defied the passage of
