Probably the Monfragüe’s best-known and most recognisable birdwatching spot, part of the UNESCO Territories and, why not, of the Iberian Peninsula. Quite simply because it is impossible to find a more accessible place, with a higher density of protected birds and more spectacular than the Salto del Gitano.

With Peña Falcón at the forefront, the quartzite massif that flanks the river on the opposite bank is situated here the largest colony of griffon vultures in a public area. But also black stork, Iberian imperial eagle, Bonelli’s eagle, peregrine falcon, Egyptian vulture, eagle owl, golden eagle and other small birds such as Cape swift, black wheatear or rock bunting, which thrill fans of their birdwatching, for those who really don’t have enough time in the day to see it all. A real spectacle.
