- GRAND TOUR OF UNESCO SITES
Getaways
We’ve put together some brilliant shortcuts along the Grand Tour, divided into five two-day getaways and four one-day trips.

2-day breaks
Dolmens, border villages, landscapes of pastureland and the Tagus River marking the boundary. Two days to discover that here, too, the border can bring people together.
From the Roman bridge from Alcántara to the The Gypsy’s Leap, passing through villages, castles and quartzite landscapes. A journey where looking out of the window and sticking your arm out is already part of the plan.
From Monfragüe to the Geopark, amidst trompe-l’oeil and Appalachian-style landscapes. All without crossing the Atlantic, because millions of years ago they were joined together.
Guadalupe, mountain villages and millions of years of history beneath our feet. A journey through the Earth that ends, as it should, at the Guadalupe Monastery. QWell, it won’t all be walking.
1-day getaways
Do you like dolmens? Well, this day trip is the perfect way to enjoy a day out to the full of megaliths in the Tajo Internacional Transboundary Biosphere Reserve.
This getaway brings together the very best of UNESCO Territories: with over 250 species found there. Great eagles, falcons, vultures, black storks… I’ll take it!
We’d like to suggest a truly rocky getaway through the Villuercas Ibores Jara Geopark – the sort of trip that leaves its mark, in this case in the form of fossils.
Because the night belongs to us, let’s go on a night-time getaway – what do you think? Many places in UNESCO Territories are ideal for stargazing because of their low levels of light pollution.
