- GRAND TOUR OF UNESCO SITES
Grand Tour
"In a big way"
In a big way, in kilometres
693 km to cover on the Grand Tour. And we’ve still got more to do.
In a big way over time
Over 500 million years of geological history. And here you are, worrying about getting there on time.
A grand view of the landscape
Pastures, rivers, mountain ranges, skies and borders. Not bad at all.
Making history in a big way
Rome, military orders, Jews, conquerors, nomads… They’ve all passed through here – what about you?
A wealth of titles
Three UNESCO-recognised sites. We must have done something right.
There are places you visit.
And there are places you visit.
500 million years of geological history
You’re late. Quite late.
A Roman bridge dating back almost 2,000 years
For the time being, he doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to retire.
An international border
It’s called La Raya here.
Three UNESCO sites
And there are still places where there’s no Wi-Fi.
A national park of universal significance
Monfragüe will give you the answers.

Shall we go for a walk?
Some trips leave you with hundreds of photos. Others leave you with sticky fingers, aching arms and a clearer mind.
This Grand Tour is one of the latter.
693 kilometres to travel across a province which you understand much better when you walk along it, cycle along it, look at it, try it out and, every now and then, simply stop to see what’s going on.
The route links three UNESCO-recognised sites which, together, encapsulate much of what makes the province of Cáceres so special: the geoparque mundial Villuercas-Ibores-Jara, the reserva de la biosfera de Monfragüe and the reserva de la biosfera transfronteriza Tajo-Tejo Internacional.
Three regions. Three different ways of engaging with the landscape.
Geology you can touch. Birds that make you look up. Skies that beg you to switch off your mobile. Villages, traditions, local produce and a culinary culture that are all part of the region.
Un viaje pensado para descubrir el Grand Tour de la provincia de Cáceres desde la curiosidad and the a desire to explore it sin prisas. A lo grande.
