Scenic route: Monfragüe National Park
A recommended route for exploring the main highlights of Monfragüe National Park at a leisurely pace, without too much effort and in the shade.

With its A 11.5-kilometre route, this short scenic road runs from north to south through the heart of the Monfragüe National Park, from the Puerto de la Serrana, passing through Villarreal de San Carlos, the River Tagus and the Fuente del Francés, to follow the road through the shade as far as the The Gypsy’s Leap and surround the sunny side of the castle as far as the edge of the park.

In other words, short but intense; with a visit to the Villarreal Interpretation Centre, walk to the Lugar Nuevo hackberry, spending quite some time watching the griffon vulture colony and other highlights of the enormous cliff at Peña Falcón and the walk up to the castle, have a brilliant day.
