Imagine you’re driving along a road in the Tajo Internacional Biosphere Reserve and, suddenly, you find yourself in a village called Salorino. A small, quiet village… until you round the first corner and – bang! – a massive mural on the façade. And another. And another… as if they’d decided to paint the village’s culture and legends in XXL size.

There are many murals dotted around the town, where you’ll find everything from tributes to the rural slaughter, megalithic culture, an ode to the dehesa, protected birds, the Raya, and nods to Extremaduran folklore.

Here is the list of artists who have made this possible: Lula Goce, Jesús Brea, Jonathan Carranza (sign as Sojo), Cain Ferreras or Isabel Flores, amongst others.

It’s all very Salorino: direct, unpretentious and with a striking authenticity.
