If you’re a mountain bike enthusiast, the wide open spaces and winding terrain of the Tajo Internacional Transboundary Biosphere Reserve are perfect for enjoying your favourite activity; the the banks of the Tagus, the hills of the Sierra de Santiago and the numerous granite outcrops which are scattered throughout the region, form a mosaic where you’ll easily find challenges to suit your skills.

It has a total of 321 km signposted for mountain biking, spread across 11 different routes, graded from easiest to hardest using the colours green, blue, red and black. In addition, the MTB centre’s reception point, next to the Alcántara Tourist Office, has information and maps of the routes, bike wash points and an emergency bike repair service.
