Every year, between May and June, this appealing initiative takes place, inviting visitors to enjoy the biosphere reserve’s surroundings and its architectural heritage in a very different way.

The Monfragüe arts festival, “Naturarte”, is the result of the a harmonious coexistence between art and nature. Unique places such as the the chapel at Monfragüe Castle, the convent at El Palancar, or the churches of San Juan Bautista in Malpartida de Plasencia and San Nicolás de Bari in Casas de Millán, become the setting for interesting cultural events, which can be enjoyed every year in different parts of the reserve.
