The museum is named after Vicente Sos Baynat, who was a pioneer in geological and archaeological studies of the area.

The visit, moreover, it can be linked to the Costanaza Mine, a former, large-scale phosphate and tin mine that has been restored to show how people used to work underground. So you’re not just visiting an isolated museum, but another part of a a combination of geology, mining and local history.

Inside the geomining museum, you’ll find some 800 items on permanent display, divided into sections devoted to the minerals of Extremadura and the mining history of Logrosán itself.

It’s educational, nice and cool for the summer and, to be honest, going down into a mine is much cooler than any shopping centre, because the rocks have more to tell us than meets the eye.
