The Vía de la Estrella GR 112 recreates the route of the an ancient Roman road which crosses the River Tagus via the magnificent Roman bridge at Alcántara, linked Cáceres with the Portuguese city of Braga.

The current trail It stretches for 80 kilometres, between the city of Cáceres and the Portuguese border on the River Erjas, spread across four stages, three of which run through UNESCO territories.
