It is part of the Network of Celestial Viewpoints, that invention from Extremadura that interprets the sky for you against spectacular backdrops.

Here, the circular, table-shaped device, located in the centre of the garden at the Hospedería de Monfragüe, it points out constellations to you, tells you where the North Star is, and makes you feel as though you understand the night sky without needing a telescope or apps that keep asking you to update them over and over again, over and over again.

And best of all: it’s in the Monfrogüe Biosphere Reserve, at the epicentre of a Starlight Destination, a sanctuary sheltered from light pollution where you can see the Milky Way in 8K. That means you can go for a walk in the morning, go birdwatching at sunset and, at night, gaze up at a sky so luminous it’s almost frightening.
