One of the most interesting and spectacular routes in UNESCO Territories is the Villuercas Nature Trail GR 116, which runs through the southern part of the Villuercas Ibores Jara Geopark.

It’s nearly 70 kilometres up-and-down sections divided into six stages: a branch line running from the Gaitanejos Pass, roughly halfway along the route, to the village of Guadalupe, and five sections between the San Vicente Pass and Logrosán.

The Peña Strait, the Guadalupe Monastery —World Heritage Site— or the Ruecas Gorge These are just some of the spectacular highlights along this route, which also takes in some of the geopark’s most secluded and rarely visited spots. It also allows you to connect the the Jara greenway and the Vegas del Guadiana greenway, bringing the total distance to almost 200 kilometres across three provinces: Toledo, Cáceres and Badajoz.
