This natural swimming pool is one of those places you just love because it looks like it’s straight out of *Condé Nast Traveller* magazine. It is just beneath the bridge over the River Ibor, between Castañar de Ibor and Robledollano, So you park by the side of the road and within two minutes you’re in the water, with no hassle or endless walks.

The water is absolutely freezing – the sort that jolts you awake in summer, crystal-clear and surrounded by trees and rocks that provide shade all day long. It’s a completely natural spot, perfect for lying back, getting wet and unwinding with friends or the kids, as it has shallow areas and a family drama which is great. Oh, and the beach bar – that’s important too.

The site is perfect for combining with the visit to the Castañar Cave and its interpretation centren or find out about the Calabazas chestnut trees, some truly unique trees.
